February 8, 2007. Patricia Pierce, 32, died at Baptist Medical Center South on Monday afternoon after being shot inside her home in Millbrook by her ex-husband Dallas Pierce, who then turned the gun on himself. Department of Public Safety refused to comment on the case, referring all questions to Millbrook officials. Elmore County court records reflect that the couple had been married for over 11 years before in March 2006 the wife filed for divorce. The divorce was finalazed as of July. The Autauga-Elmore Mental Retardation Board employees, where Mrs. Pierce worked in the capacity of a case manager, are said to be in shock.
