In January 1990, Knighton left a Kansas City, Mo., and embarked on a 4-day crime spree, according to court records, with his girlfriend Rene Williams, and his friend Lawrence Brittain. Knighton is suspected of killing two Clinton, Mo., men before they arrived at the Denneys' isolated rural Oklahoma home near Tonkawa. Based on court record, Knighton shot the couple to death. Arrested by Texas police.
