Nearly $1 Million in Unclaimed Property Returned to the Residents of Missouri

January 19, 2006 JEFFERSON CITY - Almost $1 million in unclaimed property was returned last week to more than 2,000 Missouri citizens by the Missouri Treasurer Sarah Steelman's Division of Unclaimed Property. The amount represents a 52-week record for a state agency that works year-round to return unclaimed money and property to rightful owners.

"This property belongs to citizens of Missouri, and we are delighted to get the citizens' money back to them," Steelman said.
