On April 13, 2006, the St. Louis County Police Department held a public auction of unclaimed property at Queeny Park, 550 Weidman Road. The unclaimed property included 90 bicycles, jewelry, phones, tools, stereo equipment, freezers and assorted items.
JEFFERSON CITY, June 23, 2005 – Missouri Treasurer Sarah Steelman Makes Transfer Request to Move $900,000 From Unclaimed Property Fund to the Public School Fund. The Missouri public schools will be $900,000 richer under a request made this week by Treasurer Sarah Steelman to transfer that amount from the state’s Abandoned Fund to the Public School Fund. “The request for the transfer of this funds is in accordance with state statutes,” Steelman said. “It is good news for public schools and a great example of making the best possible use of funds to help our citizens.”
JEFFERSON CITY, January 19, 2006 - Almost $1 million in unclaimed property was returned last week to more than 2,000 Missouri citizens by the Missouri Treasurer Sarah Steelman's Division of Unclaimed Property. The amount represents a 52-week record for a state agency that works year-round to return unclaimed money and property to rightful owners.
